Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Saga is a personal media journal for games, anime, manga, movies, and TV developed by Orochi Systems. Saga is designed as a local-first Apple-platform app with optional private iCloud sync through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.
2. Library and Journal Data Stored by Saga
Saga stores the library information you choose to save, including media titles, external media identifiers, posters, backdrops, summaries, genres, creators, platforms, status, ratings, dates, tags, journal text, appearance settings, and progress history. Orochi Systems does not operate a separate Saga account system or server that receives your library, ratings, or journal entries.
3. Photos and Attachments
If you add a photo or screenshot to a journal entry, Saga stores that attachment inside the app's local data. Photo access is optional and controlled by Apple Photos permissions. Saga's current export flow is designed for library and journal text data and does not include photo attachments unless a future version explicitly adds that support.
4. Search Queries and Metadata Providers
When you search for media, Saga may send the search text, selected media category, and normal network request information to external metadata providers such as IGDB, AniList, and TMDb so it can return matching titles and details. Those providers process requests under their own terms and privacy practices. Saga saves metadata from those providers only when you choose to add an item to your library.
5. Search History and App Privacy Disclosure
Because media search sends user-entered queries to third-party metadata providers, Saga's App Store privacy information should disclose Search History for App Functionality. In the current implementation reviewed for this policy, this search data is not linked to you by Orochi Systems and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
6. Voice Dictation and Microphone
If you use voice dictation for journal entries, Saga requests microphone and speech recognition permission. Saga is implemented to use Apple's on-device speech recognition path when available. Audio is captured temporarily for transcription and is not sent to an Orochi Systems transcription server.
7. Biometric Lock
If you enable Saga's app lock, authentication is handled by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode fallback where available. Saga does not receive or store your biometric templates.
8. Local Storage, Widgets, and Companion Apps
Your Saga library is stored on your device using Apple storage frameworks. Widgets, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac companion surfaces may read limited library snapshots, poster caches, in-progress items, completion state, and summary information through Apple app-group storage so those surfaces can display current information.
9. iCloud and CloudKit Sync
If iCloud is available and enabled, Saga can sync your library through your private CloudKit database. Sync is tied to the Apple account configured on your devices, not an Orochi Systems login. Apple may process iCloud and CloudKit data under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
10. Purchases, Subscriptions, and StoreKit
Saga Premium purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing information are handled by Apple App Store and StoreKit. Saga receives purchase entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock premium features such as expanded library capacity, journaling, appearance options, advanced stats, and export. Orochi Systems does not receive your full payment card details.
11. Analytics, Ads, and Tracking
Saga is not built around advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or sale of personal data. In the current implementation reviewed for this policy, we did not identify an Orochi Systems analytics pipeline that uploads your library, journal, ratings, photos, or behavioral history. If analytics are introduced in a future version, they will be disclosed in the app and this policy will be updated.
12. Export, Deletion, and Retention
Saga may provide JSON export tools for your library and journal data. Exported files are controlled by you after they leave the app. You can delete entries in-app and remove local app data by deleting Saga from your devices. If iCloud sync is enabled, deletions and edits may sync to other devices signed into the same Apple account, and iCloud data may also be managed through Apple iCloud controls.
13. Security
Saga relies on Apple platform security, device sandboxing, and encrypted transport where applicable. No storage or sync system can be guaranteed completely secure.
14. Children's Privacy
Saga is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
15. International Users
If you use Saga outside your home jurisdiction, local privacy laws may apply. Apple platform providers and third-party metadata providers may process operational data under their own infrastructure and legal obligations.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
