1. Contact Support
Email kaisei@orochisystems.com for Kaisei support. We can help with recovery scores, the daily verdict, sleep and vitals reads, Apple Health permissions, overnight refresh, Apple Watch behavior, notifications, widgets and complications, tags and self-experiments, Kaisei Pro, purchases and restores, exports, and privacy controls.
2. Quick Setup Checks
If Kaisei is not behaving as expected, first verify: - You are running the latest version of Kaisei on iPhone and Apple Watch. - You wore your Apple Watch to sleep so there is overnight data to read. - Kaisei has permission to read the relevant categories in the Apple Health app. - Notifications and Background App Refresh are enabled for Kaisei. - Your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated to supported OS versions.
3. "Calibrating" or a Near-50 Score
In your first days, Kaisei may show a calibrating score near 50. This is intentional: with a thin baseline the app reports an honest, near-neutral score rather than a confident-but-wrong extreme. As you accumulate nights of data, your baseline sharpens and your scores become more personal. Wearing your watch overnight is the fastest way to calibrate.
4. No Score in the Morning
If no recovery score appears, confirm you wore your Apple Watch overnight, that Kaisei has Apple Health permission for heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep, and that Background App Refresh is enabled. Opening the app once in the morning lets it compute today's score if the overnight background task did not run. A score is fixed for the calendar day you wake on, so it will not change again until the next morning.
5. Health Permissions and Data
Kaisei reads Apple Health data on your device to compute your scores. You can review or change what Kaisei may read in the Apple Health app under Sharing, or in Settings under Kaisei. Restricting a category may limit or disable parts of the app — for example, removing sleep access affects the sleep read and overnight components of recovery.
6. Apple Watch, Widgets, and Complications
If the watch app, a widget, or a complication looks out of date, open the iPhone app once so it can recompute and share the latest result, then refresh or re-add the widget or complication. The watch and iPhone read the same shared local data, so surfaces update after the main app next runs.
7. Notifications
If morning "recovery is ready" alerts, wind-down cues, or trial reminders do not appear, confirm notification permission is enabled for Kaisei, check Focus modes and the notification summary, and confirm the relevant reminder is enabled in the app. Delivery timing depends on Apple notification and background services.
8. Kaisei Pro, Purchases, and Restore
Kaisei Pro is billed through the App Store. If a purchase does not unlock Pro, or after reinstalling or switching devices, use "Restore Purchases" in the app while signed in to the same Apple ID used to buy. To manage or cancel a subscription, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Kaisei, and choose your option. The Lifetime purchase is a one-time unlock, not a subscription. For billing or refund questions, contact Apple Support, as Apple processes all payments.
9. iCloud Backup
Kaisei can back up durable state such as your streak and tags to your own private iCloud so a reinstall does not reset them. This works only while you are signed in to iCloud, and it never prompts you. If your streak or tags do not restore after reinstalling, confirm you are signed in to the same Apple account and that iCloud Drive is available, then open the app and allow a moment for restore.
10. Export and Deletion
Kaisei can export your data as a single readable file and can erase every record it has created. Protect exported files after you save or share them. Deleting Kaisei from a device removes its local data on that device; state stored in your iCloud key-value store can be managed through Apple's iCloud controls.
11. What to Include in Your Email
Please include your iPhone and Apple Watch models, iOS and watchOS versions, your Kaisei app version, whether you wore your watch overnight, which Health permissions are granted, whether the issue involves the score, sleep, vitals, watch, widgets, notifications, purchases, export, or backup, and a short description of what you expected versus what happened.
12. Privacy and Safety Note
Do not send passwords, Apple account credentials, or other secrets. If you share screenshots of your health data, redact anything personal first. Kaisei is a wellness and fitness tool, not a medical device — for any health concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
